UK Working Group on NCDs awarded new grant from NCD Alliance

The UK Working Group on NCDs (UKWG) is delighted to have been awarded a grant by the NCD Alliance for work over the latter half of this year to place NCDs/health-systems strengthening at the heart of future development assistance for health, with a focus on the UK government. This is the second phase of the Civil Society Solidarity Fund on Non-Communicable Diseases and COVID-19 to accelerate the response to the pandemic, and the UKWG is particularly grateful for having been awarded grants in both phases.

Webinar – Resourcing for health in the Covid-19 era: maximising bang for buck

The resourcing – or lack of it – for global health is an ongoing and increasingly urgent concern. There has been a steady decline in overseas development assistance (ODA) for health over a number of years and, even within this shrinking pot, spending is often far from reflective of the global burden of disease: less than 2% of health ODA, for example, is spent on non-communicable diseases.
